The HP Inc., commonly referred to as HP, is an American multinational information technology company that develops and provides computing and other access devices, imaging and printing products, and related technologies, solutions and services to consumers.

In its "2016 Sustainability Report," HP states that its greenhouse gas emissions associated with all levels of its supply chain from materials extraction through the manufacture of HP products was 14,700,000 tonnes CO₂ in 2016. Additionally, 1,300,000 tonnes of CO₂ were emitted due to upstream and downstream product transportation and distribution.

HP set ambitious goals to control GHG emissions from its supply chain, namely:

HP China further explains that, "Regarding the GHG supply chain reduction goal, in 2016, we decreased 21% of GHG intensity compared with 2010. Moving forward, we have reset our supply chain GHG emissions intensity reduction goal using 2015 as our new baseline. WWF has publicly supported this goal, confirming the rigor of our goal-setting process. The new supply chain GHG emissions goals are as follows: (1) Reduce first-tier production supplier-related and product transportation-related GHG emissions intensity 10% by 2025, compared to 2015; and (2) help suppliers cut two million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO₂e) emissions between 2010 and 2025. These targets apply to our supply chain sourcing countries, including China.                                                      

Our supplier Energy Efficiency Program (EEP) in China and Southeast Asia is a leading initiative for reducing production suppliers' utility costs and environmental footprint. Since 2010, more than 200 first-tier and sub-tier supplier sites in China and Southeast Asia have joined and benefited from EEP. Implemented in partnership with nongovernmental organizations such as BSR, the World Resources Institute, and WWF, the program helps suppliers to build capabilities, improve energy efficiency, and explore the use of renewable energy, resulting in reduced GHG emissions and water use as well as cost savings.

In 2016, 44 Chinese suppliers submitted new operational efficiency plans with potential combined annual savings of more than 143,600 MWh of energy and one million cubic meters of water from 300 projects. These included initiatives to install renewable energy, adopt ISO 14064 and 50001 standards, install energy and water metering systems, and complete energy audits. Among these suppliers, 40 of them have already disclosed their CO₂e through CDP." The greenhouse gas emissions for part of HP's suppliers in 2015 and 2016 are shown below:
