VF has set climate targets, approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), committing to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 55% by 2030 and absolute Scope 3 emissions 33% by 2030, both from an FY2017 base year.

To reduce Scope 3 emissions in our supply chain we focus on designing products with sustainable and low-carbon materials. In addition, we collaborate closely with our Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, along with technical experts and industry platforms to drive improvements in resource efficiency and decarbonization. In FY2025, we partnered with an environmental consultancy in China to implement a resource efficiency program in three VF supplier factories, resulting in significant reductions in energy and water consumption and enabling a reduction of approximately 29,518 metric tons of CO₂ emissions per year.
In Vietnam, we continued our collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) through the fourth and final phase of the Vietnam Improvement Program (VIP). Since its launch in 2017, VIP has supported 38 VF supplier factories in achieving substantial energy, water, and chemical savings, including 11 factories that participated in FY25.
In Southeast Asia, we continued working with GIZ through their “To the Finish Line” (TFL) initiative, which strengthens environmental performance of factories through training and capacity building. In FY25, 40 VF supplier factories in Vietnam participated in TFL-led training activities.
We use the Higg Facility Environmental Module (FEM) assessment to measure and quantify the sustainability impacts of our suppliers. Verified data from the Higg FEM assessments is ultimately incorporated into VF’s annual Scope 3 GHG inventory.
VF is a signatory of the United Nations Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action, through which we and other signatories have committed to driving our industry toward net-zero GHG emissions by 2050. As part of this commitment, we aim to fully phase out coal from supplier sites by 2030. In FY25, we launched a resource improvement program targeting Tier 2 suppliers in Southeast Asia to eliminate coal use as soon as possible, and no later than 2030. The program will continue into FY26 and expand to cover all remaining factories using coal in VF’s global supply chain.
