Spring brought the most frequent dust storms in recent years, while summer saw persistent blue skies, though ozone levels exceeded limits in many areas, and extreme heat and drought hit the Yangtze River basin. Cold fronts brought refreshing autumn days, but the lingering smog and dust continued into the fall and winter months. In November 2022, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, along with other government departments, launched battle against heavy pollution. The road to blue skies over the past decade has achieved global recognition.
