In April 2021, IPE and Lvse Jiangnan released the report "Tesla: Polluting under a low carbon halo”, revealing many environmental violations of Tesla's suspected suppliers in China. Four months passed, in view of Tesla's silence and avoidance of environmental pollution issues in its supply chain, IPE and Lvse Jiangnan conducted further investigations into its suppliers' environmental performance. Our investigations found more suspected suppliers to Tesla have environmental violations, posing threats to the environment and ecology.

Lvse Jiangnan PECC and IPE conducted both desk research and field study on Jiangsu Shagang Group’s plant, pier and surrounding areas along the Yangtze River in Zhangjiagang between May and June in 2021 and found issues of suspected fugitive emission and solid waste piling in the open air, posing threats to the ecological environment of the Yangtze River.

In 2021, two environmental groups conducted investigation regarding Tesla's supply chain and found that a number of Tesla's suspected suppliers had severe pollution issues. These include exceeding the wastewater discharge standards, suspected of discharging wastewater by evading supervision, directly discharging exhaust gas, storing hazardous waste without protective measures and causing hazardous waste dispersion and leakage.

After requests from some brands for IPE to help with their regional green procurement, IPE evaluated the potential for Vietnam to adopt and benefit from a more open information transparency system. We were encouraged to find adequate basis for a modest starting point. IPE identified an important role for multinational corporations to help the region accelerate progress directly by requesting missing information from their suppliers, starting with information already required by law to be provided to the public.

October 22, 2020 – The Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs (IPE) released its seventh annual Green Supply Chain CITI Evaluation report at the Green Supply Chain & Climate Action Forum hosted online. The report documents leading brand performance in supply chain oversight over the year.

In May 2020, the residents living next to the Mohekou Industrial Zone called up PECC and explained that chemical factories there were polluting the air and water, affecting their health. PECC and IPE conducted investigation into the Industrial Zone.

In April 2019, the Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs (IPE) conducted investigations on the supply chain environmental management and information disclosure of Internet snack brands, and published the observation report.
