At Dell, responsible sourcing is a cornerstone of our global supply chain management. We recognize that our supply chain has a significant impact on the environment, and we are committed to working with our suppliers to mitigate that impact. By extending our environmental stewardship upstream, we aim to drive sustainable transformation across the entire industrial chain.

Our Approach

Since 2018, we have worked with our core assembly suppliers to promote upstream environmental management. In early 2025, we expanded this initiative to include key component suppliers, covering critical categories such as screens, batteries, and printed circuit boards. By doing so, we are enhancing the environmental resilience of our supply chain and reducing the risk of environmental incidents.

Key Focus Areas

We are working closely with our suppliers to identify and mitigate environmental risks in their upstream operations. Our focus is on three key areas:

  • Transparency and Accountability: We encourage our suppliers to register on the BlueMap platform and proactively monitor their environmental performance, particularly compliance records. This enables us to work together to identify areas for improvement and track progress.
  • Environmental Compliance: We require our suppliers to disclose information promptly in the event of environmental violations, implement effective corrective and preventive measures, and expedite the removal of violation records. This ensures that our suppliers are held to the same high standards as Dell.
  • Sustainable Practices: We promote voluntary disclosure of Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (PRTR) data and emissions data through the BlueMap platform. This enhances transparency and public oversight and enables us to work together to reduce our collective environmental footprint.

Our Commitment

At Dell, we are committed to building a more sustainable and responsible supply chain. By working closely with our suppliers and extending our environmental stewardship upstream, we aim to create a positive impact on the environment and contribute to a more circular and sustainable economy.
