近日，京津冀协同发展再传重磅消息：由京津冀三地联合编制的《现代化首都都市圈空间协同规划（2023—2035年）》正式获得党中央、国务院批复。在一片关于“轨道上的都市圈”、跨城通勤和房地产机遇的热议中，一个关乎所有人健康的问题更应引起我们的重视——那就是区域大气污染的协同治理。如果蓝天不能常驻，都市圈的“现代化”便失去了一个重要的基础。

Customized air quality index: Safeguarding your respiratory health

In response to the recent calls for lifting the ban on fireworks, we hope that local authorities, while respecting traditional customs, will carefully assess the situation and make prudent decisions. Potential issues, such as spikes in the air quality index, noise pollution, littering from firework debris, and public safety risks—including fire hazards—need to be addressed. Developing science-based risk management strategies that adhere to the rule of law is crucial to balancing and meeting the diverse needs of society.

Over the past decade, China has made significant strides in tackling air pollution. Today, the country is embarking on a new phase in its battle for blue skies, with a fresh roadmap unfolding. Looking ahead, we hope to see greater collaboration among the government, businesses, and the public, building on the successful experiences of the past decade in air pollution control, underpinned by comprehensive monitoring and information disclosure. We also look forward to multi-stakeholders leveraging the momentum from the dual carbon targets to drive structural adjustments and low-carbon transitions, actively promoting the synergistic reduction of pollution and carbon emissions. This will ensure improved air quality and the achievement of high-quality carbon peaking before 2030. These efforts will not only contribute to the construction of a Beautiful China but also enable China to offer its wisdom and strength to the global effort toward a cleaner, more beautiful world.

Considering the rebound in pollution over the autumn and winter months, how to effectively "differentiate" management strategies and prevent polluters from reverting back to old practices is a major challenge facing key regions and industries, one that will influence the success or failure of the battle for blue skies.

This report mainly focuses on the Air Quality Transparency Index (AQTI) assessment of 120 cities nationwide. The results indicate that the rate at which cities lack PM10 data and data on other air quality indicators is relatively high, and that data from municipal- and county-level monitoring stations is not disclosed in some key areas for pollution control. The "blank space" where monitoring stations are not publishing their data is not conducive to effectively reducing emissions.
