The "Chinese Provincial Carbon Peak & Carbon Neutrality Index Summary Report(2020-2021)" was released recently. Through a comprehensive evaluation of climate ambition, low-carbon status, and emission trends, the results show that after the launch of the national "dual carbon" strategy, eastern developed provinces and cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangdong are leading, while Sichuan, Henan, and Chongqing in the central and western regions are also showing a positive trend.

October 21, 2021 – IPE released the first Corporate Climate Action Transparency Index (CATI) at the 2021 Green Supply Chain & Climate Action Forum. The report highlights that the dual carbon targets have motivated local and global companies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain.

Considering the current state of climate information disclosure by A&H-listed companies and the significant and unique economic implications of climate information disclosure, we analyze the motivations behind climate information disclosure and the relationship between disclosure quality and corporate performance.

In the field of climate change response, promoting the establishment of a corporate GHG emission information disclosure system helps mobilize the emission reduction awareness of significant emitters, enhance the motivation to reduce emissions, strengthen public supervision, and assist the country in fulfilling its obligations under the Paris Agreement with high quality.

In order to make all public sectors get aware of and cooperate with the action on peaking carbon emissions, on the basis of the collaboration with China City Greenhouse Gas Working Group, IPE released the report "Chinese City Carbon Peak Index”.

On Oct 23th 2020, the Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs (IPE) released the third annual Supply Chain Climate Action SCTI Index in Beijing. We expect that through the continuous evaluation of the SCTI Index, we will be able to objectively reflect the current status of supply chain climate action by Chinese and foreign enterprises, identify good practices, promote larger-scale emissions reduction by enterprises and support green economic recovery. In addition, it will provide a strong market impetus to the implementation of the Paris Agreement, the earlier peaking of global carbon emissions and ultimately the achievement of the crucial goals of carbon neutrality.
