IPE and PECC released the first year’s Climate Action CATI evaluation results of the photovoltaic (PV) listed company. The report indicates that many PV listed companies are actively responding to the requirements of the dual-carbon policy, implementing energy-saving and emission reduction projects, and carrying out green transformation along the industrial chain. Report also suggests that the majority of PV listed companies need to benchmark themselves against industrial leaders to improve corporate and supply chain climate governance. We thus call for multi-stakeholders to jointly advance the zero carbon supply chains in the PV industry.

The Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs (IPE) released the evaluation results of the 2023 Listed Company Climate Action CATI Index. The report indicates that overall China's listed companies have made progress in climate action. IPE believes that this 2023 CATI evaluation is a systematic background investigation before the release of the new rules on listed company ESG information disclosure, and to a certain extent, reflects the "baseline" of climate disclosure of listed companies.

By taking stock of the ten major actions taken by China to respond to climate change and fulfil the carbon peaking and neutrality commitment, the research team analyzed how the nation has developed a top-level design centered on the formulation of the "1+N" policy system, formed an overall strategy to actively and steadily promote carbon neutrality, and guided the participation of the provinces and cities, industrial sectors and the wider society to carry out pragmatic emission reduction measures. The research team believes that China has made positive progress in the implementation of the "dual carbon" commitment and the Paris Agreement, and that there is significant potential for accelerated progress.

October 19, 2023 - The Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs (IPE) published the 6th annual Corporate Climate Action CATI evaluation report in Beijing. The report shows that companies in China and overseas are accelerating their climate actions under the pressing global climate situation.

The "Chinese City Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Index Summary Report (2021-2022)" systematically evaluate the development of “dual carbon” action within 110 Chinese cities through three dimensions, climate ambition, low-carbon status, and emission reduction trends. The results indicate that Shenzhen is on the top of the list, followed by Chengdu and Qingdao. The rest of the top ten cities are Beijing, Ningbo, Wuhan, Xiamen, Kunming, Shanghai and Guangzhou. Ningbo, Yancheng, Jiangmen and Weihai have made improvements when comparing the score last year. The score of Lianyungang and Wenzhou drops and Yulin, Ma’anshan, Rizhao, Wuhu and Jincheng have low rankings.
